How a Transaction Works

Every domain transaction on DomainEscrow.com follows a structured, legally supervised process. Here's exactly what to expect from initiation through closing.

1
Initiation
A party initiates the transaction

The Seller (or Lessor), Buyer (or Lessee), or Broker initiates the transaction online. All relevant transaction terms are submitted at this stage.

Seller / Lessor Buyer / Lessee Broker
2
Notification
Both parties are notified by email

The initiating party receives a confirmation that the transaction has been started. The non-initiating party receives a notification that they have been named in the transaction, along with all transaction terms, and is asked to agree to those terms.

3
Agreement
Terms are agreed to by both parties

Once the non-initiating party agrees to the transaction terms, the initiating party is notified. JJN Solutions (the transaction administrator) then emails both parties a formal Transaction Agreement that includes all terms, along with each party's name, address, email, and phone number. This agreement is drafted to protect both parties in the event of non-performance.

4
Authorization
Both parties sign and return the agreement

After both parties authorize and return the signed Transaction Agreement to the administrator, JJN Solutions issues next steps: the Buyer/Lessee receives payment instructions and the Seller/Lessor receives domain transfer instructions.

Payment Instructions → Buyer Transfer Instructions → Seller
5
Fulfillment & Closing
Obligations are confirmed and the transaction closes

Once the administrator confirms that both parties have fulfilled their obligations, both are notified and the transaction closes:

  • Escrow Service: Funds are released to the Seller/Lessor within 48 hours, and the domain is transferred to the Buyer/Lessee within 48 hours.
  • Transfer Service: The domain is transferred directly from Seller/Lessor to Buyer/Lessee. The administrator confirms receipt with the Buyer/Lessee, then notifies the Seller/Lessor that the transfer is complete and funds will be released within 48 hours.
